About Mrs. Kyle
Dear students and parents,
Welcome to Fifth Grade in Room 215. I am so glad that you are a part of my class this year!
Let me tell you a little about myself. I was raised in Hampton, VA, attending Barron Fundamental, Eaton Fundamental, and Phoebus High School. I am married with three wonderful boys, two of which have attended Spratley with me! I attended the College of William and Mary and majored in Public Policy and Elementary Education. Since I graduated, I have also completed my gifted endorsement and received my National Board Certification. I was honored to be named the Teacher of the Year in 2015 at Spratley Gifted Center. I am currently working on my Master's Degree for Curriculum and Instruction for Gifted Education through UVA's Curry School of Education. This will be my eleventh year teaching, with all eleven years being in Hampton with fifth grade gifted students.
The most important part of my classroom is my students. I have high expectations for behavior and academics in my classroom, always focusing on the learner and the best teaching practices. This year I am planning many projects and activities to engage my students and to make connections with the real world. I look forward to this learning adventure and I am so excited to work with you this year!
Best regards,
Mrs. Kyle
